UC Berkeley Chancellor’s Fund

Where Philanthropy Meets Venture
To Power Innovation

The UC Berkeley Chancellor’s Fund is the UC system’s first venture capital fund that is a separate legal entity wholly owned by the UC Regents on behalf of a campus. For the first time in the university’s history, Berkeley has a campus-controlled venture fund, built by Berkeley, for Berkeley, enabling donors to fuel innovation, partner with founders, and shape the future of the university’s impact on society.

Managed by UC Berkeley’s Venture Capital Services team, the fund combines entrepreneurial flexibility with strong university stewardship. This structure enables Berkeley to support its innovation ecosystem while maintaining thoughtful oversight.
